Windows Live Suite Debuts on Nokia Cellphones

Microsofthas recently announced the debuting of their Live services on the Nokia S660 devices. Starting this week, Nokia customers in 11 countries (Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, U.K., Sweden, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) with compatible Nokia S60 devices can download the new suite, enabling access to Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Contacts and Windows Live Spaces.

Early next year, the Windows Live Suite will come built-in with the Nokia S40. The service will be available as a free trial, and then customers in select markets wanting to continue using the service may be asked to pay a monthly fee.

By combining the two giants - Microsoft and Nokia -- this step might take the Windows Live platform away from the PC perception and bring it to a whole new audience and a new level of mobile services, from email to blogs to pure entertainment; a crossover media that can be reached both on the personal computer AND on the go with the mobile device. In fact, this merge is an important brick in the yellow brick road of the internet/mobile generation, and is definitely not the last one.
