White Pearl: Blackberry Pulls a Michael Jackson

Photo props to Gizmodo

white blackberry.jpgI guess because old model was having trouble hailing a cab, Blackberry announced plans yesterday to release a white version of their popular Blackberry Pearl. Available exclusively through T Mobile, the Blackberry White Pearl has well… the exact same features as the old Blackberry Pearl, which was the first Blackberry to integrate a digital camera. Aside for from the 1.3 megapixel camera with built in flash, it features all major instant messengers, real web browsing, and a Blackberry Maps application that accesses online maps and allows them to be sent vie e-mail or stored in your address book. It also offers light-sensing technology that automatically brightens the screen for dark environments, indoor, outdoor, or when your girlfriend opens her mouth, so you can say her smile lights up a room. Okay, that last part would have cool though.

However, what's most attractive about the Blackberry Pearl is the price- only $150 after rebates or roughly the cost of two cups of coffee at Starbucks. T Mobile is also offering unlimited e-mail and internet for $19.95 a month in addition to their normal rates.

For more information on the Pearl, you can check out What is Blackberry? and Pearl Shortcuts explained. Also, check out the official press release to see how they managed to stretch a "we come in a new color" announcement to two pages. It's an amazing achievement; I don’t think Enron accountants even used that much padding.
