If your like me, the IRS has never owed you money, it's the other way around. But if you actually did over pay last year, well you'd probably want the IRS Refund Phone Number on speed dial.

The truth is however, the IRS doesn't really want to talk to you. They'd prefer that you attempt any inquiries through their Where's My Refund website here. However, if you still haven't received your refund after 8 weeks, the IRS Refund Phone Number they want you to call is (800) 829-1040.

You can also check the status of your IRS refund at (800) 829-4059 and for any other general refund information can call (800) 829-1954. Which ever number you call just make sure to have your social security number on hand, a copy of your tex return, the filing status of your return, and the dollar amount expected from your refund.

Why isn't there just one IRS Refund Phone Number? Well as best as I can tell, (800) 829-1954 is the general Refund Hotline number, but to just state that would be too simple.
