That is Shyamali Malakar. What is she doing naked behind an acoustic guitar? I really have no idea. Shyamali is most famous for having a brother on a popular televised singing competition. We don’t want to mention her brother’s actual name as we don’t like him very much. We wish he would just go away, but for some reason otherwise rational people keep on voting for him on their cell phones.
Please don’t vote for him. Please… I so used to enjoy watching American Idol but now I can’t watch without wondering, was that boy’s continued survival one of the tell-tale signs of the impending apocalypse? I knew I should have paid closer attention in bible class.
In other American Idol news this week, Gina learned singing a song written by a silent film star is conceptually a bad idea; though Tony Bennett is timeless, he’s also really old; and Duke Ellington can be the biggest star of the evening, even if no one in the audience actually knows who he is.

[...] After a two day, three hour event that raised over 30 million dollars, you’d think a voted off contestant couldn’t overshadow Idol Gives Back but that would be just underestimating Sanjaya again. This time around its his mother Jillian Blith, stepfather, and sister Shyamali making news, as it was revealed all three were arrested in 2005 for having 310 marijuana plants (!) in their possession. I had previously asserted that America most be high for voting for Sanjaya week after week, and know we even know who their dealer is! But thinks could be worse for sister Shyamali; since she was 17 and hence a minor, her mug shot is sealed leaving us to post a far more respectable pic of her as a Hooters waitress. [...]

L’American Idol Sanjaya Malakar continua a non convincere ed è considerato nel reality il più debole come capacità artistiche ma ha di fatto una folta schiera di accaniti fans che lo sostengono salvandolo dall’eliminazione.
