If Google Wave is supposed to be the next phase of  e-mail, what does that mean for cell phone?

Google Wave as just been unveiled at Google’s I/O conference for developers and without getting into all the details, the video is about 80 minutes long, this could be the application that finally destroys IM and text messages. 

More accurately, it turns out he actually extended text messaging to 160 characters.

According to The New York Times text messaging is the latest, greatest fad in sex education:

At the CTIA Wireless keynote address Wednesday, CTIA president Steve Largent revealed that during 2008, Americans sent 1 trillion text messages. That's nearly three times the 363 billion text messages that Americans sent in 2007, and averages out to about 10 text messages per wireless subscriber.
