Palm, which is fast becoming the ugly stepsister of smart phones is set to roll out a new operating system in 2009 - but should it?

CNN Money Online just wrote an interesting article about why Palm would be better off just junking their OS, and starting over again with Android.

There was a time when having a Palm Treo was cool, but then again there was also a time when people wore bell bottoms unironically.

Yes, the Palm brand of PDAs is aging faster than week old milk, but they can still try to get some  vicarious press off of more relavent entities. Like Facebook for example, which has just been optimized for the Palm Centro, Palm Treo 755p, and Treo 680.

Boy Genuis Report has unearthed the first photo of the Palm Treo 850, and while we know that will have a 400 MHz processor and 100 MB of RAM, almost nothing else is known about Palm's next big handset.
