Never mind that in reality Lauren Conrad wouldn't be caught dead on The Hills without a Blackberry, or with any phone that only costs 50 bucks, for the right amount of money she'd hawk Heidi Montag tee shirts.

But it does seems strange though that LG would feature texting in the ad, when the LG Shine doesn't have a texting friendly QWERTY keyboard... and strange that anyone would actually offer Brody Jenner a paying job.

What the LG Shine does offer is a 2-Mega-Pixel camera with camcorder and video playback functions, Bluetooth 1.2 with wireless headset, MP3 player, a microSD Slot for up to 4GB of extra storage, 5 navigational joystick, and One-Touch Speakerphone.

It's a decent phone, but keep in mind, you only get that $49.99 price from AT&T if you also pay a $36 activation fee with a two year carrier commitment.

Meaning while at first glance it might seem the LG Shine is $50, it turns out the price is something much more gratuitous.
