iPhone 3G problems and drawbacks
Well, it been less than 24 hours since the iPhone 3G was officially announced, and the let down still has left a bad taste in my mouth. Yeah, it has 3G speed, and GPS... but that's pretty much it. All the other rumoured changes failed to materialize.
Here's what didn't happen:
Price Cut - I know, I know... $199 for the 8GB. But as we documented here, once you factor in the mandatory minute and data rates for AT&T, the least you end up paying for your iPhone is $70 a month... that's more expensive.
Better Camera - The camera on the original iPhone was a low end 2-Mega-Pixel camera. The camera a year later? Still the exact same thing.
Video Chat - Since 3G speed can support it, every one was talking about how the 3G iPhone was going to have a second front end camera for video chat. And it still might happen... next year.
Removable Battery - While the SIM ejector tool was a welcome change, the problem of an unremovable battery was still... unremoved. You'll have to mail in your phone or go to an Apple store to get it fixed.
MMS - No, I don't really care about sending picture messages to other phones... but the fact that any $5 piece of junk mobile can and the super iPhone can't... it's just wierd.
Memory Card Slot - Okay, I understand how a 32GB phone might have been clunky, but why not give the people who want it the option?
Other than there still being no copy-and-paste function or wireless Bluetooth audio, those seem to be the major iPhone 3G problems.
Do you have any problems with the 3G iPhone we're missing?

Yes, major problem that you're missing is that most people have played into the media's game of hyping up a new device.
People's expectation gets raised and people get trampled over when rumours.. stay just as rumours. Funny that ;)
The major problem with the iPhone isn't a technical one. It's the pessimistic biased opinions of certain individuals in society.
