Verizon Wireless and Guitar Hero apparently have a "to 11" sized hit on their hands, as they've announced Guitar Hero III Mobile has hit the 1 million download mark, with people playing an average of 250,000 songs a day.

The games success can probably be attributed to the easy to understand gameplay, there are only three button used, the sense of community, each day the high scores are posted online, and it's renewability. While it comes with 11 songs to play along with, an additional 3 songs offered every month for $4.49 or $11.99 for unlimited use.

However, while the extra tunes might make the game more entertaining, a real Rock God usually is stuck playing the same 11 songs over and over for the rest of his life.
