Verizon employees caught snooping on Barack Obama phone records

If Barack Obama can actually create jobs once he's sworn in as president remains to be seen, but so far it looks like he's actually costing people jobs.

Or at least people's own stupidity regarding him is costing them their jobs, as Verizon Wireless just announced that they've suspended with pay all employees who have viewed Barack Obama's phone records after they found some of that some of those employees were just snooping. As Verizon's internal investigation continues, one assumes that the Verizon employees who were just doing their jobs will be reinstated for what amounts to a paid vacation, while the guilty parties will unceremoniously be sacked.

Verizon has in the meantime issued a statement saying, "We apologize to President-elect Obama and will work to keep the trust our customers place in us every day," but has declined to comment specifically on what information was viewed improperly.

It has been confirmed however that the account has been inactive for several months, and any billing or conversation records that had been compromised were related to a flip phone, not the omnipresent Blackberry that Obama was seen with on the campaign trail.
