Mankind Is No Island, is a cell phone film

How can you make money on the award circuit?

If your film costs $57 and wins an award for $20,000 that's how. Jason van Genderen’s Mankind Is No Island, a wordless 3 and a half minute video shot on a cell phone, just won the prestigious Citi Filmaker award at the Tropfest NY.

Judged by such celebs as Julianne Moore, Billy Crudup, and The Tipping Point's Malcolm Gladwell, Mankind Is No Island was the first short film shot on cell phone. Personally, I find it pretentious and boring, but you can judge for yourself aas the video's embedded above.
