Justin Timberlake brings "The Phone" to MTV

At the last MTV Music Awards Justin Timberlake got on the networks case for not showing enough music videos anymore. So what does he turn around and do? Exec Produce a show for MTV that has nothing to do with music videos of course.

The reality game show is called "The Phone" and the way it works is two prospective players are called on cell phones strategically placed at opposite sides of a major city. After answering the phone, contestants will have 5 seconds to decide if they want to play the game or not. If they do, and I'm guessing they'll only air instances when they do, the two contestants will have to communicate with a guide via cell phone as they try to solve a fast paced Bourne Identity like puzzle and collect the cash prize.

Based on a Dutch series, "The Phone" also employees the added gimmick of having helicopter follow the contestants every move from the sky.

The Phone is slated to debut in Fall 2008, and other then then vague title of Co-Executive Producer, there's no additional information on what Timberlake's involvement in the series will be.
