Apparently the Japanese use their cell phones so much they can't even wait to get home to recharge their cell phones. The Hello Kitty Battery Charger runs on either FOMA or AU batteries and links to your cell phone or MP3 player via mini USB port.

Aside from even the added cost though, how bad for the enviroment is the Hello Kitty Battery Charger? You already have a battery charger that runs on electricity, but instead of waiting to get home to use it, you're supposed to go through disposable batteries like water?

I guess the only thing "green" in Japan is Godzilla.
