Does the world need a Linux phone?

Doesn't really matter, it just got one.

The Openmoko Neo FreeRunner might just be available online and in a sparse amount of retailers right now, but if the $399 cell phone takes off... Linux based phones could become an interesting alternative to mobile operating systems like Symbian and Blackberry OS.

The advantage of a Linux OS is it's open source, meaning it's very applications friendly. Sure Google's Android will be too but that's not out this week.

Other notables about the Openmoko Neo FreeRunner is that it features a 2.8 inch touch screen,  Wi-fi, Bluetooth 2.0 along with 128MB of RAM and 256MB of flash memory.

You can take a closer look at the Openmoko Neo FreeRunner, which sounds like a Keanu Reeves Indian Reservation BTW, here
