DC Motion Comics to debut on Verizon V Cast

If you want to know what a motion comic is the answer is pretty simple. It's basically just taking a comic book, filming it, adding sound effects, music, and actors reading the lines... i.e. think of it as animation done on the really cheap.

(It's even cheaper when you realize they don't even have to pay writers or artists for this because it's all existing content.)

Anyway, DC Comics, which has like 70 years worth of existing content to chose from is trying to branch out into Motion Comics, starting with the brilliant Wachmen, which is being offered through iTunes, and Batman: Mad Love, which is being offered through Verizon Wireless' V Cast network starting July 22nd.

Telling the story of Joker sideklck and sort of love interest Harley Queen, Batman: Mad Love is an excellent story by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm that I loved when it first came out in 1994.

If it or anything else works in the Motion Comics format, which strikes me as a very limited hybrid medium, remains to be seen.
