cell phone salesman Paul Potts wins Britain’s got Talent!

While the competition was incredibly formidable last night, six-year-old Connie Talbot gave a beautifully controlled performance of "Over The Rainbow", mild mannered Paul Potts was able to pull out the final win on Britain’s got Talent, with over 2 million votes cast. While unlike American Idol, which depending on the season I wanted them all voted off, it was hard to see anyone have to lose on this program, which Simon Cowell called the best he's ever been involved in.

But if there could only be one winner; how just that it be Paul Potts? Owing, £30,000 in credit card debt, not for a gambling problem or anything but for a debilitating biking accident that left him unable to work for two years, Paul not only can use the £100,000 in prize money to finally get back in the black; but his security in general seems secure. He's going into the studio to cut his debut album next week; and thanks to YouTube, already has a fan base far beyond the reach of where Britain’s got Talent was broadcast.

It looks like we'll have Paul Potts around for a long to time to come.

Here's is the results part of the show; where Paul finds out the joyous news.
