How can I be so sure that this story about Brett Farve talking on his Packers issued cell phone to the coach of The Vikings, which would be a clear case of tampering is false?

It has to be as The Packers never issued Farve a company cell phone, or any other player a company cell phone, as that's apparently a clear violation of the NFL salary cap... unless they listed the expense on their salary cap.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel first reported the erroneous Packers cell phone story, while in my original post I managed to spell Brett Favre "Brett Farve" and not notice it for two days all on my own... making the the incident a veritable Pay It Forward of bad journalism.

Anyway, in related Brett Favre news, he's set to report to Packers training camp but has received permission to talk to the New York Jets... facts I'm sure we'll be retracting tomorrow.
