Beam Me Up with the New Triple Watch Cellphone

Triple Watch CellphoneSound strange? Well, there are people who's job it is to think of weird and freaky stuff like this. Not a bad way to make a living, huh? Bridgeport student Manon Maneenawa, for example, won first place and $10,000 at the CTIA Wireless 2006 in Las Vegas for his design of the Triple Watch cell phone.

The design is actually a wrist watch that can transform into a cool cell phone - you can literally take the unit out of the wrist band and use it as a normal regular cellphone. You can talk with the Triple Watch cellphone using the speaker phone while wearing it on your wrist (and feel like you're starring in a Star Trek flick…) or you can simply use the nice bluetooth feature. Both features will allow you to answer the phone and carry on a conversation or hung up.

I think it’s a pretty cool gadget and I was trying to find out if it will ever hit the market - but no one really seems to know...

I think it's too big to asian. And the shape is too bad! Why not make it mini and easy to control...

I hope it would go out the market

That looks like one of the stupidest, not to mention most uncomfortable things ever invented! That deserves 10,000 dollars?? Oh come ON..
